MAP® Facts
MAP™ – Physicians’ Reference Summary
DESCRIPTION
MAP™ (Master Amino Acid Pattern®) is a dietary protein substitute that delivers a patented blend of essential amino acids in a highly purified, free crystalline form. Supplied in 1,000 mg tablets, MAP™ requires no enzymatic digestion and is fully absorbed within 23 minutes via the first 100 cm of the small intestine.
-
U.S. Patent No. 5,132,113
-
Form: Oral tablets (1,000 mg each)
-
Composition: 100% MAP™ — no fillers, binders, or additives
-
Fecal Residue: None
-
Amphoteric: Functions in both acidic and basic environments
COMPOSITION
Each tablet contains only the active ingredient:
MAP™ – Master Amino Acid Pattern®
A unique, purified combination of essential amino acids.
CLINICAL STUDIES
Multiple double-blind, triple- and quintuple-crossover studies have shown:
-
99% Net Nitrogen Utilization® (NNU®) – Nearly all amino acids are used for body protein synthesis.
-
Only 1% Waste – Minimal nitrogen catabolites and energy byproducts.
-
Superior Efficiency – Compared to an average of 32% NNU® for dietary proteins.
-
Low Caloric Impact – 400 mg/kg/day (ideal weight) of MAP™ maintains nitrogen balance at <2 kcal/day.
In clinical settings, MAP™ has been used as the sole source of protein, replacing traditional dietary proteins with far greater efficiency and virtually no metabolic waste.

INDICATIONS & USAGE
MAP™ is indicated as a safe and effective substitute for dietary proteins in clinical, athletic, and general nutrition contexts. It is suitable for individuals with dietary restrictions or requiring high-efficiency protein intake.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
MAP™ is best taken with food. For use as a complete dietary protein substitute, the recommended dose is:
400 mg per kg of ideal body weight per day
Example: To replace 10 g of protein:
-
MAP™ dosage = 10 g × 0.4 = 4 g MAP™ (4 tablets)
Do not exceed 10 tablets within any 2-hour period. Gradually increase dosage if more than 10 tablets per day are needed.
